What is Gentle iodine spray?
Gentle iodine spray is a chemical compound used as a topical antiseptic for animal use. It is a yellowish brown liquid with a strong smell. It comprises of raw Iodine solved in an alcoholic base. The iodine in alcoholic base is known as tincture and the tincture is the most effective chemical in medicinal aids.

Gentle iodine spray is available in market at a wide variety of soluble ranges:  The ones that are effective for minor cuts, ring worms or in case of smaller animals. The other which are for post surgical treatments like castration, de-horning, abrasions and other major wounds and bigger pets and farm animals like horses, cows etc.
Gentle iodine spray has turned out to be a great healer of the navel wound that is a must within the newly born calves and babes. In order to treat this, the spray has to be used once daily for at least a week or so.
Spraying of the medicine should be done from a moderate distance of 4-6 inches from the animal’s hide. Holding nozzle too closer to the animal’s skin may cause an ill sensation which might make the treated unwilling to take the medications from the next time.

·         Gentle iodine spray may be efficient in healing animal ailments but not always it suits on animals due to some skin related problem or infections. 
·         If redness of skin, irritation and any further ailment occurs, then immediate attention of veterinarian or the medicine manufacturer should be drawn.
·         Gentle Iodine spray is extremely restricted in external animal use only.
·         Swallowing of this liquid is fatal and deadly.
·         Do not inhale the toxic mist that rises from the liquid.
